Agreement Accelerates Adoption of a Safe and Sustainable Support Removal Solution for Wax 3D Printed Parts
BUFFALO, NY, USA – March 3, 2023 – PostProcess, the pioneer in automated and intelligent post-processing solutions for 3D printed parts, and CAD BLU, a leader in 3D printing solution sales and service, announce a distribution partnership to provide a fully automated and sustainable wax support removal solution for customers in the North American jewelry sector. This partnership makes it easier for customers to procure a total solution for wax 3D printing, enabling end-to-end digitization of the workflow from the part design through 3D printing to post-processing.
With over 25 years of experience in the industry, CAD BLU has been a trusted provider of digital 3D printing solutions for jewelry design and manufacturing. The company is now expanding its offerings to include advanced post-processing solutions for its customers. CAD BLU offers the PostProcess® DEMI 430™, a fully automated solution that utilizes proprietary software, hardware, and chemistry to effectively remove wax support structures on 3D printed parts. As a part of the comprehensive solution, a new proprietary formulation of detergent, PLM-601-SUB, was released in 2022 by PostProcess specifically to solve both time and safety concerns for the support removal for 3D printed wax parts. This solution streamlines the manufacturing process by eliminating the need for manual, labor-intensive support removal, thereby removing the traditional post-processing bottleneck and eliminating hours of processing time per batch.
PostProcess’ technology enables the 3D printing and finishing of more complex part geometries with increased consistency between parts and less breakage. This is especially important for small jewelry parts with very intricate details or fragile walls. The company’s proprietary solutions utilize software controls of multiple energy sources to uniquely optimize wax support removal. Providing a safer and more sustainable solution for wax support removal, the DEMI 430 is also designed for operator safety with plug and play processing, reducing the risk of injury to workers compared to traditional IPA processing, and ensuring a safer work environment.
“We are thrilled to partner with CAD BLU to deliver our advanced post-processing solutions to the jewelry industry,” said Nathan Harris, Americas Vice President of Sales at PostProcess. “Our DEMI 430 wax support removal solution is the perfect fit for jewelry manufacturers looking to streamline their additive workflows and improve the quality of their products. We look forward to working with CAD BLU to deliver this technology to their customers.”
“CAD BLU is excited to partner with PostProcess, as the DEMI 430 solution is exactly what the jewelry industry has been needing and waiting for to streamline the unique post-processing of wax parts,” stated Eric Rodriguez, CAD BLU’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Rich Motto, our CEO and founder, led the charge to bring 3D printing solutions to jewelers, which had a significant impact in this industry overall. We expect to see a similar impact again now that we can offer such a transformational post-process solution”
CAD BLU will be showcasing the PostProcess DEMI 430 during the upcoming MJSA Expo on jewelry making and design in New York City, March 5-7, 2023, at booths 110 and 112.
